140/365

I love the Fourth of July!!!  I'm not, however, sure what my favorite part of it is.  I think it's simply the feeling of unity that comes with the celebration.  We are celebrating our country's freedom.  We are celebrating our freedom.  This freedom, though not free, is something each and every one of us shares.  It is something that, no matter what your race, religion, gender, economic status, occupation....no matter any of that, you have freedom.  For me, I cherish my religious freedom.  To know that, in other countries, people are not only persecuted but even killed for simply believing in God, makes my heart ache.

As I have spent the past nine and a half years as an Air Force wife, this appreciation has grown stronger.  I see, first hand, so many of the sacrifices made.  I have also been able to become a part of a community like no other.  Soldiers sometimes talk about comradery and having each others backs.  They aren't the only ones.  I have made some of the most amazing friends who I know wouldn't think twice before helping me.  I'm not saying there aren't nonmilitary people likes this.  I'm just glad to part of a community where this mentality seems to be the norm.  I look forward to the next 11 or more years of making more and more friends.
