35/365

We had Jackson's parent teacher conference this past Friday.  It went great!  During the conference, his teacher said she would like all the kids to do a "100 project" for school since tomorrow is the 100th day of school.  She said it could be anything we want, we just need 100 of something.  Jackson and I decided to take this to heart and get a bit sentimental.  We created a display of "100 Fallen Stars."  Below you can see his display of 100 stars.  Under each star, we printed the name of a soldier that has fallen in Iraq or Afghanistan.  I regularly thank God for the safe return of our military friends and family, but that doesn't always happen.  And as often as I have seen these safe returns, I know I also can forget the loss of so many.  This is only a fraction of the sacrifices made for our safety and freedom.  Thank you.
